1. Barcelona (no change)
Luis Enrique's side continue to impress in 2015. Though Saturday's 2-2 draw with Sevilla -- a game in which they took a 2-0 lead and should have made it five or six before conceding a late equalizer -- was a letdown, they showed no signs of damage in Wednesday's comprehensive 3-1 win over PSG. Seizing control of their Champions League quarterfinal in the first leg, Neymar and Luis Suarez did the scoring while Lionel Messi pulled the strings. That three-pronged attack continues to be a nightmare for opponents.
2. Real Madrid (+2)
Carlo Ancelotti's side did something to be praised in Tuesday's UCL quarterfinal first leg: they didn't lose to Atletico, taking a tough 0-0 draw with them back to the Bernabeu for the return game on April 22. Their aggressive, confident approach was a refreshing change from the bewildered side that lost 4-0 to Diego Simeone's team back in February, but they'll still need to work hard to finish the job. In La Liga, Saturday's 3-0 rout of Eibar was made even more notable by Barca's draw at Sevilla, which means the gap between the two teams is down to just two points with seven games remaining. Can Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. complete the comeback?
3. Juventus (-1)
Juventus are cruising to a fourth consecutive Scudetto, so it's little wonder that they might stumble in league play -- Sunday saw a complacent side succumb to debt-riddled Parma 1-0, though they still boast a 12-point lead thanks to the shortcomings of the chasing pack. The perfect response came in the Champions League, with an arguably fortunate 1-0 win over AS Monaco thanks to much-maligned Arturo Vidal's second-half penalty. Max Allegri's side are suffering a late-season slip but they're still in pole position at home and in Europe. Not a bad place to be.
4. FC Porto (+3)
Did anyone see Wednesday's result coming? If you did, hats off to you. Julen Lopetegui's side were relentless against Bayern, pressuring the Bavarian giants into critical errors en route to a 3-1 win. Ex-Barca playmaker Ricardo Quaresma continued his sparkling form, scoring twice against Pep Guardiola's side. Jackson Martinez added a third to cap an unforgettable evening. Last weekend, a 3-2 win over Rio Ave keeps the pressure on top side Benfica, though Porto are three points back with six to play. That said, momentum is firmly on their side.
Trouble for Pep Guardiola? The German side are suffering from a similar malaise as Juventus in that their league title is virtually sealed. When that happens, a loss of focus is only natural and after a 3-0 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend, Bayern were poor and only have themselves to blame for a stunning defeat at Porto. Unlike Juve, Bayern's issue is currently a lack of depth, currently without key stars like Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery, David Alaba and Medhi Benatia, while Thiago Alcantara (who scored on Wednesday) has only just returned to first-team action. Progressing in the Champions League could be Guardiola's greatest achievement yet.
6. Atletico Madrid (+3)
Diego Simeone's side remain resolute despite their inability to defend their league title in 2014-15, picking up a creditable 2-2 draw at Malaga thanks to two goals from in-form Frenchman Antoine Griezmann. Then followed a typically robust performance against their crosstown rivals in the Champions League -- Tuesday's 0-0 draw at the Vicente Calderon gives them a notable away-goal edge should they score at the Bernabeu.
7. Chelsea (-1)
Jose Mourinho's Blues were poor at Loftus Road on Sunday but still emerged with a 1-0 win thanks to Cesc Fabregas' late goal. As the cliche goes, the hallmark of great teams is how they pick up results when not playing well and this was definitely one of those afternoons. The Blues look notably different without Diego Costa, who will be absent until the final four games of the season, but there is more than enough quality with PFA Player of the Year nominee Eden Hazard dictating play from the flank and Fabregas picking passes in midfield. Saturday's visit of Manchester United should give a much clearer sense of their current form.
SHAKA HISLOP'S POWER RANKINGS
- Apr. 9: Barca hold off Juve, Bayern at the top- Mar. 26: Juve now the closest to Barcelona
- Mar. 19: No movement among the top six
- Mar. 12: Barca still lead, Real slide
- Mar. 5: Barcelona continue at No. 1
- Feb. 26: Barca top, Juventus on the up
- Feb. 19: Atletico Madrid fall four places
- Feb. 12: Barcelona return to top spot
Arsene Wenger's side enjoyed a narrow but comfortable 1-0 win at Burnley on Saturday that kept them firmly in charge of second place in the Prem, a point ahead of Man United and five ahead of fourth-placed Man City with six games remaining. Their form is unparalleled in English football at present: eight straight league wins (their best run since the Invincibles in 2004) and 16 wins from their past 18 games in all competitions.
9. Paris Saint-Germain (-4)
A mixed week for Laurent Blanc's side: they clinched the Coupe de la Ligue trophy on Saturday in a 4-0 rout of Bastia but limped to a 3-1 defeat at home to Barca in midweek, a scoreline that effectively ends their Champions League run at the quarterfinal stage. It was a naive result, according to Julien Laurens, but one they can learn from down the stretch. They could overturn it at the Camp Nou, of course, but injuries (Thiago Silva left after just 21 minutes having rushed back to the starting XI) and suspensions have ruined the Parisians of some much-needed consistency and flow.
10. Manchester United (new)
How far can Louis van Gaal's side go? Thanks to the likes of Juan Mata, United are flying in the Premier League, navigating the Manchester derby with ease last weekend and looking well-set to give Chelsea some trouble at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Dropping out: Wolfsburg
