FIBA
Africa Zone 3 President Col. Sam Ahmedu (retd) of Nigeria on Saturday
took delivery of a tour truck courtesy of the AMK Foundation.
At a brief ceremony and inspection of
the truck at the National Stadium, Lagos, the founder the foundation
Musa Kida, said that the truck was for the development of basketball at
the grassroots in Nigeria and in Zone 3.
Kida, who is also the Vice President of
FIBA Africa Zone 3 added that his foundation was committed to the zone’s
basketball development.
He said, “This truck is for the benefit
of us all and ensuring that the game is developed. The AMK Foundation
decided that instead of the zone going about to hire a truck each time
there is an event, it is beneficial that we have our own so that we can
put our equipment in there and move to the venue. It’s not just for the
3×3 tour but for basketball development wherever we get to.”
Ahmedu said the truck was a big boost to the Zone.
“The delivery of this truck to the Zone
is a big boost. AMK Foundation as a partner of FIBA Africa Zone 3 has
done a marvelous job in getting this truck. We’re grateful to the AMK
Foundation for this and look forward to a rewarding partnership.
“Don’t forget that, the founder of AMK
Foundation also doubles as the chairman of the finance, sponsorship and
marketing commission of the zone. His Foundation it will be recalled
played a very significant role in the success of the first 3×3
international championship held in Lagos last June.”
