Dolphins won’t go on relegation – Eguma

Dolphins coach, Stanley Eguma, has expressed his belief in his team’s ability to ease out of the relegation zone before the end of the 2014/2015 season of the Nigeria Professional Football league.

The Port Harcourt side drew 1-1 in their Week 22 match against Abia Warriors at the Liberation Stadium on Sunday.
Dolphins took the lead in the match through Isiaka Olawale in the 19th minute before Bolaji Sakin equalised for the visitors in the 30th minute.

But Eguma, who said he was not comfortable with the match’s officiating, said his side played well and would bounce back from their present position.
“My team played well,” he said on Monday.
“We still came out with a draw in the match although we could have won. Also, we are okay with the outcome of the match. It is better than losing at home.
“We will do our best to get out of the position we are now. If we are able to win some more matches and avoid some losses, we will be good.”

The coach also commended the five new players who made their debut for the team in the match.

Oghogho Oduokpe, Ebuka Nnebue, Godwin Obinze, Ebitimi Agogo and Abia Israel made their debut in the match and Eguma praised their contributions to the team.
“I must commend my players, especially, the new players that made their debut for the team. They displayed fighting spirits and gave a good account of themselves,” he said.
