The qualifying games for Euro 2016 and the FIVB Volley World Cup will be broadcast live on Pay-TV satellite platform, StarTimes, the company has said.
StarTimes’ Manager, Public Relations and
Communications, Israel Bolaji, said the Euro 2016 qualifiers would kick
off on Thursday (today) with Azerbaijan taking on Croatia, just as the
Netherlands battle Iceland, while Belgium take on Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Italy will face Malta, and Czech Republic will go against Kazakhstan.
Bolaji said, “On Friday, Georgia will
meet Scotland, Germany will host Poland, Portugal will meet France,
while Hungary and Romania will round off the day’s matches. Saturday
is filled with exciting games, including the San Marino against England
tie.”
There are also matches involving Spain
and Slovakia, Russia and Sweden, Switzerland against Slovenia, Ukraine
versus Belarus, and Austria against Moldova.
Bolaji said that followers of the top
European leagues, which are on break because of the international games,
will still enjoy games involving their stars next week, with Turkey and
Netherlands kicking off the week’s activities on Sunday.
“We
have the exclusive rights to all these games, including the Cyprus
match against Belgium, Wales versus Israel and Iceland against
Kazakhstan.”
He added that subscribers to StarTimes
will also have the privilege of following the FIVB Women’s Volleyball
World Cup, which began on Tuesday.
Teams in the competition are Kenya,
Algeria, Cuba, USA, Russia, Japan and Dominican Republic. “The matches
will be broadcast live on StarTimes channels every match day,” he said.
