England captain Wayne Rooney gave a dressing room speech  after being given a commemorative shirt and a round of applause for surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton's record as the country's top scorer with 50 goals.

The spoof James Milner account paid tribute to Rooney's feat in typical deadpan style, while a number of current and former England players joined the praise. Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman said:  "So happy he's broken the record, glad I started his career by letting that goal in against Everton!".
Former Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United striker Michael Owen tweeted:  "Congratulations Wazza, a record many have had a crack at breaking including me! Huge achievement".
Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, 29, added:  "Special day for the skipper. What an amazing achievement. Making history."
