There
are only five players who aren't in uniform for pregame warmups: Tom
Brady, Brandon LaFell, Brandon King, Marcus Cannon and Bryan Stork.
Brady has already left the building.
Robert Kraft hanging with Sarah Davis
Robert
Kraft and Giants owner John Mara are hanging out on the field with line
judge Sarah Thomas, who is the first fulltime female official in NFL
history.
Jimmy Garoppolo and Ryan Lindley took the field without
Tom Brady, so it looks like Brady exited stage right earlier in the
night.
Ryan Lindley will start at QB
Free Jimmy.
Third-stringer
Ryan Lindley will get the start at quarterback tonight, according to
CSNNE. This is a surprise, but Bill Belichick is clearly treating this
as a meaningless preseason game just a week before the title defense
begins. That should mean Lindley will play wire to wire because the Pats
want Jimmy Garoppolo to get the night off.
Starters might not even be in the building
I
was told Bill Belichick has given some of his starters permission to
watch the game from home, so we'll see if the guys who got the night off
are even in the building for kickoff.
Welcome to Gillette Stadium for the Patriots' preseason finale
Hello
from Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots and Giants are less than
three hours away from kicking off their preseason finale.
Quarterback
Tom Brady and a number of starters won't be playing tonight, according
to sources, so he'll have to soak in the atmosphere from the sidelines.
Judging by the way the reaction has gone today, it should be as crazy of
an environment as one could expect out of a fourth preseason game. And
just wait for a week from tonight.
As you can see in the photo,
the Patriots have shifted their three Super Bowl banners to the closed
end zone, and they've carved out a spot for No. 4 to the right of the
scoreboard.
It's still quiet here on the field, but keep it here up to kickoff for updates from Foxboro.
