Nigerian referees for World Cup qualifier

Nigerian referees will take charge of a 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match between Burkina Faso and Ethiopia, which the Confederation of African Football rescheduled for this weekend, one week after the earlier date for the match.
The match was rescheduled for this weekend because normalcy has returned Burkina Faso after the recent coup that threw the country into crisis for about one week.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation, Uloma Nwogu will be the referee for this weekend’s clash in Burkina Faso, with Hulda Nwokocha as first assistant and Mimisen Iyorhe as second assistant. Another Nigerian, Folusho Ajayi, will be the reserve referee.
The Nigerian football body said on its website that CAF’s confirmation that the World Cup qualifier will hold in Ouagadougou means that the 2016 African Nations Championship final qualifier between Nigeria and Burkina Faso, slated for the Burkina Faso capital city on October 25, remains unchanged.

The match is the third round of the race to the 2016 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea. The winner of the fixture between Burkina Faso and Ethiopia will face the winner of the match between Equatorial Guinea and Ghana.
The winner of the match between Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo will confront the winner between Zambia and South Africa, for Africa’s two slots at the finals in Papua New Guinea.
