Director of golf at the club, Campbell
Elliot, said, the International Management Group was working assiduously
as a team to improve the quality of the club.
He added that the tournament has grown
in status, saying it has contributed immensely to the development of
golf, especially with the involvement of tour professionals.
Elliot, a British PGA qualified
professional, said, “We are happy that more members are willing to play
in the event as there was a qualifying tournament. We are happy with the
fact that we are progressing in the right direction. The high number of
sponsors showing interest in the tournament is a validation of the
brand, which the tournament is also part of. The fact that some of the
old sponsors have returned and new ones have also arrived certainly
strengthens the faith people have in our brand.”
