Super Eagles’ goalkeeper
coach, Alloy Agu has denied reports that claimed that he celebrated Kano
Pillars’ loss at home to Nasarawa United in GloNPFL matchday 25 game
played in Kano on Sunday.
Defending champions Kano Pillars lost a
12-year unbeaten streak in the Nigerian League to Nasarawa United last
Sunday, drawing global attention and sundry reactions from every
quarter.
“As a Christian, I don’t celebrate people’s fall. I celebrate victories,” Agu opened up.
“We must appreciate what Kano Pillars
have been able to achieve at home in the last 12 years but we must also
know that records are meant to be created and broken. I congratulate
Pillars for that record they created and also want to celebrate the
victory of Nasarawa United for that away victory. Results like this will
help our league to grow. They are good for our football,” Agu added.
The former Nigerian International would
then go on to commend all those who have made sacrifices that are now
producing these positive changes in our league.
“The NFF, LMC, referees and the fans
need to be commended for all the positive changes we are witnessing in
the league. The clubs, coaches, players and media should also not be left
out. We must not rest on our oars just yet because we must keep moving
forward and never stop,” he concluded.
