NPFL: Trio battle for top spot

NPFL
Leaders Sunshine Stars, Enyimba and Warri Wolves will battle for the top spot on the Nigeria Professional Football League table on Sunday (today) when Week 22 round of matches are played.
Sunshine Stars, who lead the pack with 39 points, will face FC IfeanyiUbah away in search of three points to retain their leadership position.

Three points from this game will take them to 42 points and keep their top spot.
IfeanyiUbah have not won at home in their last two games, losing 2-1 to Kwara United in week 18 and drawing 1-1 with Abia Warriors in a week 20 game.

The hosts will be eager to end their winless run, which has now stretched to four games.
Sunshine striker Kingsley Eduwo told AfricanFootball.com, “There are no easy games, we are going for the three points at stake in the game because we want to remain on top.”

Second-place Enyimba are on 38 points and will look to upstage Sunshine Stars at the top when they host Lobi Stars in Aba.

Three points will take the People’s Elephant to 41 points and lead if Sunshine lose.
Enyimba goalkeeper Femi Thomas said he expects a tough game against Lobi.
“I know that Lobi has been doing well lately, so I am expecting a very tough game against them,” he said.
Warri Wolves, on the other hand, will top the table if they won at Giwa FC and Sunshine Stars as well as Enyimba lose.
Currently on 36 points, another three points take them to 39 points for them to top with superior goals advantage.
Wolves have been in fine form and will be a handful for Giwa.
