Solheim Cup 2015: Europe lead US 8-5 after day two

Europe have won five the cup five times while the USA have eight overall victories

The United States trail Europe 8-5 at the end of day two of the Solheim Cup with three matches unable to finish.
Play was suspended because of fading light with the Americans leading in two of the remaining fourballs in Germany.
American pair Lexi Thompson and Cristie Kerr beat Spain's Azahara Munoz and Carlota Ciganda 3&2 in the only match completed on an afternoon of slow play.
The fourballs will be completed on Sunday morning before 12 singles matches will decide the winners.
"A compelling contest has been dreadfully undermined by slow play. There is no shortage of skill and sporting courage on show, but the contest came close to grinding to a halt amid the tension of the afternoon session.
"It is a shame because it has a ruinous effect on what should be a spectacle that showcases the women's game in its best light. This is not a problem exclusive to women's golf, but is time for referees to crackdown on the faffing that means three vital matches will be settled in early morning rather than at the climax of what should have been a super-Saturday.

"The matches yet to finish will go a long way to determining the eventual outcome and Europe need something special to prevent the Americans taking crucial momentum into the concluding singles."
Europe need six more points to win the women's equivalent of the Ryder Cup for a third successive year, while the US need to reach a total of 14.5 points to regain the trophy.
The three fourballs left out on the course are all finely poised with Europe one up in one - Scotland's Catriona Matthew holed a 12-foot putt to win the 15th before play was halted.
The US are leading by the same margin in the other two matches which have two and three holes to play.

The captains will have to decide their line-ups for the 12 single matches once the fourballs are finished.
Earlier on Saturday, Hull and Pettersen had completed a remarkable victory in the foursomes to help Europe extend their lead over the United States to 8-4.
